Advocating for Libraries and Research

Working with our partners for the future of libraries and academia

Research and education have the power to transform society — but first, researchers, faculty, librarians, students and staff need support, resources and tools to push the boundaries of knowledge.

This is why we are committed to supporting libraries and advancing research across the globe.

Together, we will work together for the future of libraries and research.

Our partnerships

American Library Association

We work closely with the American Library Association (ALA), the largest library association in the world. It advocates for libraries, library workers, and everyone they serve, from small, rural libraries to the largest library systems in the country.

We support the ALA’s Public Supporter Program as part of our commitment to library advocacy and education. Read more.

EveryLibrary

Since 2023 we have proudly partnered with EveryLibrary, a non-partisan advocacy organization dedicated to safeguarding and supporting libraries in the U.S.

This collaboration enables us to leverage the strength of both our organizations to aid libraries through dedicated resources and advocacy.

Chief Officers of State Library Agencies

Innovative, part of Clarivate, supports COSLA, whose mission is to nurture state library administrative agencies and lead with a collective voice for the nation’s libraries. We work with COSLA on multiple strategic initiatives on a national level.

We are grateful for Clarivate’s partnership over the years, and we especially want to thank them for their deepening commitment to ALA and libraries. As the first sponsor of our new Public Supporter Program, Clarivate is truly demonstrating they are FOR OUR LIBRARIES.

Using our data and insights

Pulse of the Library

We listen to libraries and share our reports and data to inform their strategies.

Our global survey of academic, public and national libraries assesses trends and measures the impact of technologies such as AI.

This comprehensive report helps libraries navigate technological advancements, economic fluctuations, and evolving community needs, empowering them to make informed decisions and champion their role in advancing research, education, and community engagement.

Briefing: Research in the United States as a driver for economic growth and global impact

Governments’ investments in academic institutions shape the research landscape and drive the innovation pipeline. In this briefing the Institute for Scientific Information, part of Clarivate examines the research economy of the United States and finds that the U.S. should continue to follow its tried and tested recipe for success, otherwise risk being overtaken.

Libraries transform the world through their critical role in promoting literacy, education, equal access to information and community engagement. There’s so much you can do to support your library. A simple visit, whether in person or online, is a good way to start.
